SKART & Masters of the Universe

EXODUS is the grand finale to a trilogy about excess and materialism. Following the successes of LUCKY STRIKE and SCHLARAFFENLAND, the All-Ages Group surrenders to a confrontation with a world that has overindulged by eating itself. Yesterday’s SCHLARAFFENLAND has imploded. How could that happen? What next? To answer these questions, SKART works with pupils of the Neuen School in Hamburg and the Freien School in Frankfurt as a mixed age collective, MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE with a shared concept of theatre. Wild and colourful, exit strategies and alternative ways of life are scanned and twisted through the aesthetic meat grinder. Irritated, they search for the wave with the torn-off index finger. Overburdened, the group remembers questions that once upon a time didn’t seem so dumb. In this performance, the rubbish heap of history form the playgrounds of tomorrow. The wreckage of the past will be recycled into the more sustainable future that will never come.
