SKART & Masters of the Universe
Fury
People who argue are stubborn, irrational, annoying and, not infrequently, lacking in empathy. Yet starting an argument also offers an opportunity for self-empowerment. So how should we deal with quarrels and anger? In FURY, the mixed-age Hamburg-based performance collective SKART & Masters of the Universe explores the physically constructive potential of the taboo subject of conflict. Once again in a congenial collaboration with members of the inclusive ensemble Meine Damen und Herren, and together with pupils from the Eidelstedt district school, residents of the Epiphanienhaus Winterhude care home, Gob Squad’s Sarah Thom and the Hamburg-based performance multi-talent Günter Reznicek, they engage with social and intergenerational conflicts in a sensory manner, transforming societal tensions and psychological states of emergency into absurd rituals and playful performance moments. Without suppressing the anger, the theatre is intensified, visually interrogated and uninhibitedly rubbed together until a great sense of human warmth leaves no one cold.
