Inspired by Malcolm Ferdinand’s theory of decolonial ecology and his metaphor of the "Worldship”, Hamburg-based Mexican choreographer Yolanda Morales embarks on a dance journey through stormy waters. In the course of this journey, repetitive, mechanized routines – deeply rooted in colonial systems of physical labor – are deconstructed. In a durational process, the audience is invited to experience this journey alongside the performers. This gives rise to the image of a future ship, carried by the idea of a special kind of hospitality. The stage becomes a place of arrival and staying, where people and the environment enter into a new relationship and physical well-being is celebrated together after work is done.
