After a pandemic break and last year's club edition, Hamburg's post-genre festival is back in full swing for the first time since 2019: Over two days, 21 artists beyond common categories will play in three Kampnagel halls, between which the audience can freely switch. Among others with: British trumpeter Matthew Halsall, who celebrates the 15th anniversary of his label Gondwana Records with one of his best albums to date; saxophonist and spoken-word poet Alabaster DePlume, who finally makes his Hamburg debut; Erobique, whom a vacation in Kumasi led to a collaboration with Frafra's gospel queen Florence Adooni; MPB legend Joyce from Brazil; the Munich based and band Fazer connected label Squama Records, which will present a cross-section of its roster on two evenings with Enji, Popp, Zylva et al.; Eddie Chacon and John Carroll Kirby, returning to ÜBERJAZZ from LA; as well as Max Herre, whose name initially leads you astray, but who presents his joint project with Roberto Di Gioia's band WEB WEB at ÜBERJAZZ – and thus once again expands the genre-bending ÜBERJAZZ universe.
