Ursina Tossi

In their new work E(R)DEN, choreographer Ursina Tossi and her team explore the ambivalent character of the "Garden of Eden". For them, paradise is neither a transcendent nor an idyllic place, neither a religious control room, a place of longing, nor a tourist resort.

It is a state of abundance that must be created. In times of ecological scarcity and the decline of closeness, contact, and attention, E(R)DEN seeks the power of movement, encounter, warmth, and ecstasy. Thus, dance becomes a subversive practice that undermines the logic of efficiency and celebrates abundance. E(R)DEN digs into the layers of earth, history and desire, searching for a different kind of ground that is soft, permeable and alive.
