As early as May 1945, surviving resistance fighters and persecutees of the Nazi regime in Hamburg founded the »Committee of Former Political Prisoners«, which became the Hamburg Association of Persecutees of the Nazi Regime – Association of Anti-Fascists (VVN-BdA). It is the largest cross-generational anti-fascist organisation in Germany and will be celebrating its 75th anniversary with an event at Kampnagel.
