Animal or human? Man or thing? Monstrous – no one knows for sure! The dance piece UNGEHEUER by the Austrian choreographer Verena Steiner starts in the living world of children. There, »monsters« are omnipresent – but rarely well explored. Playfully, humorously and with a critical eye on rusty gender roles, three dancers and the young audience embark on a joint expedition in which the monstrous is conquered as a powerful and empowering potential for everyday life. Everything that seems to make sense for the exploration comes to the rescue: voice, dance, music, objects and material.
