Adam Angst
Concert at Demokratie-Festival of ZEIT STIFTUNG BUCERIUS
Adam Angst Annoys. Not just those who associate musical enjoyment with relaxation rather than tension, but also punks—the natural target audience for the powerful punk rock of this band, founded in 2014. Their latest album, »TWIST« (Grand Hotel van Cleef), features both a piano ballad protesting the right wing party AfD, a radio-friendly pop song about escaping to the countryside, and a rock parody carried by drunken sing-along voices. Media, politics, dating apps—the quintet has collected plenty of hot-button issues and frustration with societal grievances to craft political songs that exude a compelling sense of urgency in both form and content. At Kampnagel, Adam Angst will play a free concert in the club as part of the ZEIT STIFTUNG BUCERIUS Democracy Festival, which concludes two days later with a performance by the legendary punk band Die Goldenen Zitronen.
