Angel Ho

Using noise, trap and other sounds of unknown origin, the South African artist Angel-Ho creates a kind of deconstructed club music that celebrates being different in a flamboyant way. She is part of a new generation of queer artists like her musical collaborator Arca, Lotic or Sophie, who, for some years now, have been radically questioning not only musical boundaries but also the rigid corset of binary gender identities. Her album »Death becomes her«, released in March on the English label Hyperdub, is inspired by artists such as Björk and Grace Jones and turns the musical screw towards pop music.
