As the most famous Kurdish singer in Turkey, Aynur Doğan doesn’t just have a powerful voice in a musical sense. She is also considered the voice of her Kurdish homeland and also stands for the self-understanding of Kurdish women who are trying to escape traditional roles. Together with her internationally staffed band, she creates a connection to western music, jazz and folk.
