The Sabar, called “Saabar” in the Serer language, is a traditional dance of Senegal and stands for unity and cohesion. Originally coined by the Serer, an ethnic group living on the Saloum Islands in Senegal, the Sabar is now established as a national dance form that unites all ethnic groups in the country.
In the Sabar Fusion workshop, Baidy Ba invites you to explore and experience the deep connections between music, moves and dancers that arise when dancing Sabar.
Come along, whether you have dance experience or not!
