Her sound is often ethereal and sweetly comforting, matching her bright vocals, yet she delves into the most challenging topics in her lyrics and gestures.« Since her early days in the Berlin living room scene of the 90s, Morgenstern has skillfully elevated German pop music with over a dozen albums, showcasing a virtuoso minimalism that was more commonly associated with John Cale or Robert Wyatt. As a theater musician, she has also contributed to several award-winning productions by Rimini Protokoll and most recently performed with the performance group Showcase Beat Le Mot at Kampnagel. Now she is back with her new album »In anderem Licht«, which was recorded at the legendary Hansa Studios in Berlin. The chamber music double album addresses the looming climate catastrophe, the potential for essential social transformation processes, and the prospect of breaking free from a state of widespread paralysis.
