Claudia Rankine
A Counter Canon of Antifascist Theory and Practice: Triage
Past dates
10/3/25
6:30 PM
The award-winning American author Claudia Rankine dedicates her cross-genre work to the societal and social consequences of discrimination, violence and marginalisation. In unconventional publications, she continuously explores racism and power structures. Rankine’s new literary project “Triage” will be published in 2026. At her lecture at Kampnagel, she will read excerpts from it and – inspired by Sophocles’ “Antigone” – develop a contemporary redefinition of the term “collapse”. She provides literary food for thought on the understanding of collapsing systems, as well as on the possibilities of unification.
The evening will be moderated by Raphaëlle Red. The first part of the lecture series takes place the day before with Vanessa E. Thompson.
