Musical surrealism by the feminists of the future: Cocorosie are back with new pop-wonder sculptures.

The pop-art world of the two CocoRosie sisters Bianca and Sierra Casady has taken multiple forms: In 2012, they developed a feeble ballet at Kampnagel and have written the music for three stagings of avant-garde theater legend Robert Wilson. Bianca Casady has also staged her own plays (including in 2015 at the Summer Festival) and, in six studio albums, CocoRosie have created a surreal, magical forest of songs and queer aesthetics. The music is simultaneously forceful and fragile, combining beatboxing, opera and a children's keyboard with a popcorn machine, and packaging explicit feminist lyrics with disturbingly beautiful melodies. In 2017, they released the anti-Trump song »Smoke 'em Out« with Anohni, who once described CocoRosie's live performances as »shamanistic shapeshifting.« Now one of these concert ceremonies will take place at the end of the Summer Festival, including songs from a new album, which will come out this fall.
