The rewrite of the classic television format enters its seventh round. For the first time, DAS KRITIKABLE QUEERTETT will take place under the motto “Out of time”, with three critics coming together and bringing along a text that is at least forty years old. Together, they will look for ways to talk about literature from multiple perspectives, to argue about it, to appreciate it and to translate it in its temporality.

This time, the following texts will be discussed by the critics:

  • Nicole Seifert: Mary Renault – Freundliche junge Damen
  • Gunda Schröder: Dinu Amzar – Stimme des Herzens
  • Lila Oji: Octavia E. Butler – Wilde Saat

Nicole Seifert holds a PhD in literary studies. She is a translator, editor of the rororo Entdeckungen series, and author of the books Frauen Literatur: Abgewertet, Vergessen, Wiederentdeckt and „Einige Herren sagten etwas dazu“: Die Autorinnen der Gruppe 47.

Gunda Schröder is an independent literary scholar, philosopher, and artist. She has published reviews and essays in Das Zeichen. Zeitschrift zur Sprache und Kultur Gehörloser.

Lila Oji studies literary theory and leads block seminars for students on Afrofuturism, Black trans identities, and feminisms. As co-founder of the Theodor Wonja Michael Library in Cologne, Lila regularly organises Black History Month events as well as readings and book discussions on BIPoC literature. In addition, Lila gives workshops and lectures on queer-feminist literature and literature by Black authors.
