Disco Illusion presents Red Greg

For Closing of the Summer Festival: Disco all night long.

This year’s guest for the closing party of the International Summer Festival is Disco Illusion Soundsystem, the pseudonym of Just von Ahlefeld – DJ, producer and comanager of the Smallville record store. With other DJs and a lot of passion, he illuminates the many sparkling sides of disco music. Disco is the euphoric musical form and lifestyle that combined style with racial, class and gender emancipation in the 1970ies and was later developed into house music by underground producers in Chicago and New York. For Disco Illusion events, Just von Ahlefeld has built a DIY speaker system, reminiscent of the sound ethic of legendary DJs like Larry Levan and David Mancuso – in contrast to our current world of blaring cellphone speakers and perpetually available music. The Summer Festival edition of Disco Illusion will include a special guest: London’s Red Greg, who has a global reputation as an excellent DJ and discoverer of obscure disco records.
