In 2021, Annalena Baerbock became the first woman to head the Foreign Ministry. Not an easy office in times of numerous crises: During the war of aggression against Ukraine, Baerbock argued with the Federal Chancellor about Germany's position on planned EU sanctions against Russia. The German government's handling of the Gaza war and Baerbock's statements are often met with fierce criticism. The poor results of the Greens in the European elections could be a harbinger for the upcoming state elections. However, there is not only a crisis at international level, but also at national level: the coalition government is fighting over the budget, and if no agreement is reached, the government is likely to collapse - Baerbock is calling for more willingness to compromise.

Will the Greens manage to get back on their feet before next year's federal elections? Baerbock has not ruled out running for chancellor, but Habeck is considered the favorite. How will Germany support Ukraine in the future? What will happen if Donald Trump runs for a second term as US president? And how can an agreement be reached in the Gaza war?

Tina Hildebrandt, head of the politics section at DIE ZEIT, and Roman Pletter, head of the business section at DIE ZEIT, will discuss these and other questions with Annalena Baerbock. You will also have the opportunity to ask your questions at the event.
