Invitation to an open meeting: Accessibility in the Independent Performing Arts Hamburg

In March 2024, Kampnagel invited Hamburg's independent performing arts community to a major discussion. We discussed various topics, such as project funding deadlines, the planned Kampnagel construction process and the issue of accessibility. In the end, it was clear that we need another in-depth meeting on accessibility – this time as a key topic. This is what we'd like to invite you to now. The main goal of the meeting is to discuss appropriate and necessary structures for barrier-free production in the independent performing arts community that will allow us to articulate the necessary public demands.

Invited are disabled artists as well as all artists from Hamburg who are concerned with accessibility in their work or are planning to do so in the future. In particular, artists who are professionally active in the independent performing arts (dance, theater, performance) are addressed, regardless of whether they are at an up-and-coming level or as long-standing actors, whether as a group or independently working artists. For all those who cannot attend, there will be a protocol afterwards, which we will be happy to send you on request.

The meeting will be held in German with interpretation in German Sign Language. Please let us know by 23.08. if there are any further translation needs.

The room is accessible at ground level, equipped with several beanbags, a wheelchair accessible toilet is available.
