11.02.2021 is the catch-up date for the event, which was originally scheduled to take place in November.

The Afro-German historical musicologist Harald Kisiedu, who lives in Hamburg, does research, among other things about jazz as a global phenomenon, Afro-diasporic classical and experimental music, improvisation and Wagner. As a saxophonist, he has also performed with greats in American jazz such as Branford Marsalis, George Lewis and Henry Grimes. In his recently published book »European Echoes: Jazz Experimentalism in Germany, 1950-1975« he deals with experimental jazz in post-war Germany around pioneers such as Peter Brötzmann (2018 as part of the Noisexistance Festival at Kampnagel), Alexander von Schlippenbach, Ernst Ludwig Petrowsky, Irène Schweizer or Joachim Kühn, and especially their examination of Afro-American jazz and its relationship to new music and other arts. At Kampnagel, Kisiedu meets the (feminist) author, musician, DJ, jazz expert and current winner of the Berlin Literature Prize Thomas Meinecke to present the book in the form of a conversation with music.
