Waldbühne Kultursommer Special at Kampnagel – presented by NDR and ZEIT-Stiftung

19:30 HFTM YOUNG TALENTS: FILIPP DINEV TRIO Organic, melodic and meditative: guitarist and composer Filip Dinev from Macedonia studies Jazz at the HfMT Hamburg. With his band he expands the soundscape of the classic guitar trio format and blends jazz, classical, pop and Balkan elements.

Kanalbühne Kultursommer Special at Kampnagel – presented by NDR and ZEIT-Stiftung

18:30 – 19:30 HFMT YOUNG TALENTS: CLARA LUCAS UND HAUKE RENKEN Vibes and Vocals Duo As HfMT Young Talents, Clara Lucas and Hauke Renken not only impress with their clear, brilliant sound and the extraordinary combination of vocals and vibraphone but also with the equally extraordinary breadth of repertoire: from their favorite jazz pieces to songs by Billie Eilish.

20:30 – 21:45 JOSH DOLGIN FEAT. KAISER QUARTETT: »ONE NIGHT IN ODESSA« Josh »Socalled« Dolgin has been exploring his Yiddish roots and culture in music for some 20 years now -- first as an iconoclastic re-mixer and hip-hoppifier of old Jewish records, and then as an accordionist and singer of traditional repertoire -- which led to a deep love and understanding of the many threads that make up the beautiful tapestry that is Ashkenazi Jewish music. When he met Hamburg-based Kaiser Quartett while working together with the legendary Gonzales, they became friends and developed into regular music collaborators, on special projects, in theatre, and in a recording of Yiddish songs with string quartet accompaniment, called »Di Frosh«. Join »Socalled« and this world-class string ensemble for an evening of songs from their musical collaborations, from the Kampnagel musical theatre sensation »The Season«, some of their Yiddish music repertoire, as well as some world premieres of new arrangements created during the pandemic.

FESTIVAL AVANT-GARTEN INFO

Like last year, Hamburg's pearl of pleasure parks will be designed by JASCHA&FRANZ - conceptually accompanied by the long-time festival associated performance group JAJAJA and extended by a Waldbühne by Urs Amadeus Ulbrich and Gras & Steine. With references to fun fairs and theme parks and with a concept for accessibility, the Festival Avant-Garden offers various areas with installations, performances, culinary delights from the Peacetanbul Restaurant and a daily changing program on several open-air stages and the Migrantpolitan building (details in the program overview).

Capacity is limited due to the pandemic and access is only possible with a personalized ticket (3€, available in advance and at the box office). With a ticket for another festival performance on the same evening you can enter the garden for free - as long as there is enough capacity, otherwise there might be bridgeable waiting times. Seated areas in front of the various garden stages will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Details about hygiene rules on site will be published here in due time.
