Horror in the Elbphilharmonie with great German pop composer Konstantin Gropper.

With his music project Get Well Soon, multi-instrumentalist and singer Konstantin Gropper has shown that great pop music can also come from Mannheim. Here lives the composer, who was born in 1982 and also composes music for movies and TV series, produces the popular rapper Casper and was quickly deemed a »German wunderkind« (NME) on the international pop-composer scene thanks to his albums about stoicism and Spaghetti Westerns. Get Well Soon songs are pop dramas filled with melodic incursions, Gropper’s English baritone lyrics and surprising arrangements,and always refer back to big orchestral forms. These are grimly expressed in Get Well Soon’s new album, »The Horror«, which he will present live with a band and chamber orchestra in the Elbphilharmonie Grand Hall. »The Horror « tells the story of Groppe r’s own nightmares and our fear-driven current era , incorporating references to the cajoling ‘50s-era sounds of Frank Sinatra and the tense film music of Hitchcock composer Bernard Herm an. After this evening, in any case, everyone will sleep more soundly.
