After lengthy consideration, the Grandbrothers have decided to move their upcoming tour to the autumn and postpone the concert at Kampnagel, which was scheduled for 2.3.2022, to 31.10.2022. A live experience, for which the Grandbrothers stand, is not yet fully realisable with the existing capacity restrictions. Tickets remain valid.

Man, machine, man-machine? Who actually plays the piano here? There is no clear answer to this question at Grandbrothers, because a computer and a self-built apparatus that has been refined over the years are involved, which fires hammers at the instrument. This can turn the grand piano into a kind of harpsichord or even a drum machine. Their music is in transition, it marks the possibilities of a shift in meanings that have become possible with an instrument traditionally associated with the educated bourgeoisie and the classical period. Right away, however, it doesn't really have anything to do with neoclassicism. With the Grandbrothers, limitation and variety always enter into new, complex and melody-loving combinations. On the new album by Erol Sarp and Lukas Vogel, the music – every note, every sound – still has its origin in the sound of a single instrument: a concert grand piano in their studio in Bochum. But because such an instrument can't just be put in a jacket pocket and transported from A to B, it is always replaced on live stages by other pianos.
