Haiyti presents: Coco Squad
Konzert / Party
Haiyti makes trippy, surreal rap that mixes street and art school.
Getting high, pushing coke, chilling, fuck you. Over catchy 808 beats and minimalistic synths, Hamburg rapper Haiyti tells surreal stories that take place somewhere between shady places and after-hours. The art student transforms hectic text-message slang and hyphy references into concrete poetry for the generation YouTube. In all her quickly released tracks, obviously with self-made music videos, Haiyti shows an aesthetic that is unique for her genre. For that reason, her fans include not just your average hipster, but underground greats like Moneyboy and Frauenarzt. The newspaper taz approvingly described her as a punk and »artist du jour,« but she sees herself as a girl-boss gangster. Our take: Along with Lady Bitch Ray, Haiyti is currently one of the most interesting figures in (German) rap, and she consequently won the Krach&Getöse Hamburg music prize recently and will also play Dockville Festival on August 20. We look forward to her curated night with Euroslimes, Knochengang, Joey Bargeld, and DJ Asad John and 2Malle.
