Heavy Feelings Takeover

HEAVY FEELINGS is a Cologne-based platform for collaborative, cross-genre, and forward-thinking sound practices. Moving beyond trends, it connects an international community and creates spaces where music and visual art intersect. The Summer Festival edition connects Cologne and Hamburg through a shared lineup: For the first time, Ahmad Mateen aka Ninja Kidsoul, a “pioneer of New German Soul” (ARTE), presents a new collaborative project with his Hamburg-based Kabul Fire Records labelmate agajon: a raw, genre-fluid set blending soul, hip-hop, and experimental sound. Summer Festival party curator and Ballroom Kid DJ Jada brings rhythmic intensity and soulful sound to the KMH; and SMIKI, resident and defining voice of HEAVY FEELINGS, blends RnB, hip-hop, and electronic music into dynamic sets. The night will be rounded out by Parissa Charghi, founder and vinyl-only selector, who combines jazz, dub, and rhythm-driven electronica into multi-layered sets. A lineup that reflects shared values, different perspectives, and a common love for music.
