Interactive panel: Informing for the European elections - but how to deal with fake news and disinformation?

In cooperation with Debating Europe / Friends of Europe and Planpolitik.

The upcoming European elections will be an important test for democracy in Europe and the trust of citizens in it. In Germany, people aged 16 and over will be able to vote for the first time. But where do they and all other voters get trustworthy information on which they can base their voting decisions? How can I recognise what is true and what is not, what is dubious or manipulation? What can politicians and platform operators do to combat the spread of fake news and disinformation? We discuss with:

Anne Kjaer Bathel, Co-Founder & CEO, Founder if ReDI School

Christian Stöcker, Head of the Digital Communication programme, Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW Hamburg)

Moderation: Björn Warkalla, Managing Director, Planpolitik & Katja Sinko, Project Manager, Planpolitik
