Ivo Dimchev, the dazzling Bulgarian entertainment phenomenon of the extra class, delights the KRASS Festival with his brand new programme: with his five-piece band, he reinvents dance folk: Chalga Style is the Bulgarian mixture of folk and dance pop with the humour of the unique Ivo Dimchev. The main theme of the songs is of course (unfulfilled) love, sex, crime, money and luxury. But Chalga is also institutional criticism and a protest movement against nationalist voices and cultural ideas. Cross-border collaborations, the integration of Roma and homosexuals, the acceptance of cross-dressing and the open commitment to the equal value of all cultural influences are the characteristics of a tolerance that is actually lived.
