With their album »Don’t Play with the Rich Kids,« the ever-ambiguous group Ja, Panik made a return to the stage as a rock band in 2024. Over a decade ago, the insightful musician Christof Schreuf described the Austrian band’s music as »Dostoyevsky at the Disco,« capturing the essence of their trademark nihilism, crafted in Austria but based in Berlin. With refined lyrics that hover between party and protest, and a playful take on pop music, Ja, Panik has always embraced a close relationship with theater and art. Following three albums on Berlin’s Staatsakt label and two on Hamburg’s Bureau B, the group will now establish their own record label, STUDIOS FÜR ERWACHSENENBILDUNG, in Berlin-Schöneweide in fall 2024. Just before their return to Kampnagel after 10 years, they will release five new tracks under the title »Musik gegen Musik«.
