LGBTIQ*-Empowerment-Karaoke all night long!
For almost six years now, the LGBTIQ*-empowerment format Kick-Ass-Queereeoké has been an integral part of the Kampnagel universe and the Hamburg scene. The energetic, multi-hour karaoke variety show also tours internationally – most recently to Beirut Pride, planned as one of the few high-profile LGBTIQ* events in the Arab world and cancelled last minute. Queereeoké first and foremost focuses on singing as an act of expression, allowing people to feel free in a world where queer life is still stigmatized. Queer art has always involved the expression of anger about perpetual discrimination. An evening for overcoming prejudices and/or stage fright – with a genuinely revolutionary dimension. As a Summer Festival special, the collective is having the artist-musician Tami T. open the evening. With explicit lyrics about queer life and love, and with clubby beats and catchy pop melodies, she will get all of the shy and undecided audience members ready for a night of excess.
