Kiss Facility is the band project of Emirati-Egyptian singer Mayah Alkhateri and Irish-Chilean musician SalvadorNavarrete, who, under his stage name Sega Bodega, deconstructs club music and collaborates with artists such as Björk and Rosalía (p.24). With Alkhateri’s velvety vocals, soaring guitar tones, and trippy beats, Kiss Facility draws on familiar shoegaze soundscapes — but breaks
them down with Arabic vocals and ultramodern club pop. This leads to a “gorgeously unexpected effect,” writes Pitchfork about the debut album “KHAZNA,” released in 2026. With this, Kiss Facility pursues their goal “to be a source of love and hope … a safe community translated into hopeful sounds,” as Mayah Alkhateri says, who sees her music above all as a soundtrack for the freedom
of oppressed women. For them — and all allies — Kiss Facility will now make their Hamburg debut at the Summer Festival: “genre saboteurs, blurring the lines until all that’s left is a haunting, strangely luminous sensation — and the result is marvellous” (Dazed)
