KOKOKO!

KOKOKO! is a collective from the Congolese capital Kinshasa. It consists of the electro-producer and singer Makara Bianko (aka Lingwala devil), dancers from the Lingwala district and music-instrument inventors from the Ngwaka district, who recycle everyday materials such as metal, cans and plastic containers into instruments. KOKOKO!s distorted, fast rhythms and spontaneous lo-fi electro sounds provide the spectacular soundtrack for the hard, unstable, but extremely creative reality of Kinshasa.
