For its 10th anniversary, the KRASS Kultur Crash Festival opens with the critically acclaimed music theatre production WIR SIND DAS VOLK - EIN MUSICAL by the Slovenian music legend Laibach and the Berlin dramaturge and author Anja Quickert. »As soon as the word ‘people’ is mentioned, I become suspicious,« Heiner Müller explained in 1990. Today, the question arises anew as to who or what this chorus was that empowered itself in 1989 with the slogan »We are the people«. In times of global regression, the phantasm of »the people« has once again gathered in ethnic, cultural or ideological unity. The music theatre project WIR SIND DAS VOLK – EIN MUSICAL now brings together on stage what seems to have always belonged together: the poet Heiner Müller and the monumental musical veterans Laibach (live!) featuring Agnes Mann, Susanne Sachsse, Cveto Kobal, Sašo Vollmaier and many more.
