Opening up culture and making discourses accessible does not mean trivialising or trivialising them. Certain powercritical discourses are dismissed as ‘too complicated’ because they are politically undesirable, while other highly complex schools of thought are regarded as cultural canon. Representatives of selected media discuss the contradictions of accessibility and expertise and present ways of translating discourse critical of power.
