A young woman with thick, long, black curls stands in front of a purple background. She is only wearing black underpants and transparent pink tights over them. She covers her naked hands with her hands, which she holds flat in front of her.

Audience Talk

On Stage: an Arab woman who is barely visible in the media and has so far made few appearances in film, television and theatre. She embodies self-determination, free thinking, sexual liberation, art, entrepreneurship and democracy. The other Arab woman struggles with an identity that has been publicly imposed on her. At every turn, she is confronted with being perceived not as an individual, but as a stereotypical representative of a so-called Arab culture and religion. On stage, she creates a new story, a self-portrait. Word for word, she challenges prejudices and clichés about Arab people. The other Arab woman is here to stay. THE OTHER ARAB WOMAN is a moving and captivating play about self-determination and strength.
