The Quatuor Bozzini opens the second day of the festival with a concert featuring the world premiere of a work for string quartet with harmonicas by the Danish composer Niels Lyhne Løkkegard, as well as first performances by the three Canadian composers Tanya Tagaq, Nicole Lizée and Sarah Davachi.
Afterwards, the Berlin electro-acoustic ensemble Boeseblick will perform in Hamburg for the first time. Boeseblick explores a wide variety of electronic materials that the four musicians bring from their different backgrounds. Blurring the line between composed and improvised playing, the music of the Boeseblick Ensemble combines elements of melody and noise, reflecting on current themes such as cultural appropriation, home and commonality, creating sound worlds beyond established traditions.
In the night concert, Quatuor Bozzini will perform the Hamburg premiere of Occam Delta XV (2018), a work created especially for them by French composer and electronic music pioneer Éliane Radigue.
