BREAKING VIRTUAL is a virtual encounter with hip hop dance and at the same time a tribute to hip hop culture. The audience learns about the stories and values of hip hop through a lecture-performance by artist Franklyn "Slunch" Kakyire. Equipped with VR glasses, the visitors, accompanied by two intergalactic avatars, will immerse themselves in a virtual world, experiment with dance steps and try out small choreographies. With BREAKING VIRTUAL, choreographer Regina Rossi and digital artist Gloria Schulz develop their previous research on virtual space as a place for dance that started with DANCE MACHINES in 2022. This time they researched the potential of virtual community building through dance and movement together with "Slunch", Nadja Häussler, Raphael Moussa Hillebrand and other artists from the hip-hop scene.
