Laboratorium Open Day

Past dates

Public presentation

For over 20 years, Saša Asentič has been working with people with disabilities. The cultural activist is considered across Europe as one of the most important specialists for inclusive theater. During FOKUS TANZ, Asentič invites guests to a six-day »laboratorium« by and with dance artists with and without a disability. Three artists with learning disabilities – Julia Häusermann, Denis Seidler and Natalija Vladisavljević – will offer insights into their work. They will be accompanied by their longtime collaborators Marcel Bugiel and Olivera Kovačević Crnjanski, and have a discussion about their specific working relationship, in which access as well as individual needs make up an essential part of their aesthetic praxis. The disabled and non-disabled participants of the LAB will come together with the goal of creating an open and solidary way of working in contemporary dance. At the end of the day at the LAB, the artists will open the doors to the public and present excerpts from their works.
