Kampnagels Avant-Garden is the festival’s lovely centrum and both, Hamburg’s most beautiful summer spot with a large outdoor area with food and drinks by Peacetanbul, the Kampnagel restaurant, and a large funfair with art, concerts and installations – free of charge and open in the evening on all festival days! This year the Avant-Garden is designed by 4E – a team of architects at HafenCity University Hamburg. By making the four elements tangible the team brings the festival garden into an interstellar context: Cosmic Avant-Garden! Here, MIGRANTPOLITAN opens its doors daily with, among other things, the famous Solicasino, there will be top-class readings and concerts at Waldbühne in the framework of TALKING BACK, and late night Summer Festival stars JAJAJA will extend their RADIO ATOPIA format with many guests Fridays and Saturdays: with headphones that can be borrowed free of charge, they will once again transform the garden into a firefly sea of happily moving people. In addition, there will be exhibitions of Jacolby Satterwhite on view, site specific installations by visual artist and performance maker ANCA MUNTEANU RIMNIC, and by LIGNA: the Hamburg performance art collective brings different listening-choreographies to the festival garden with MEET ME AT THE BENCH.
