In her works, the Brazilian performance artist Carolina Bianchi interweaves literary, pop-cultural and art-historical references and impressively questions current conditions. In the first part of her Cadela Força trilogy (engl. Bitch Strength) she tells the stories of sexual violence against women over the past decades and delves into history, art and into her own memory. Meanwhile, she drinks a knockout drink herself, called Goodnight Cinderella in Brazil and regularly used to drug and rape women in Germany, too. While she loses consciousness, other scenes play out on stage. Departing from the story of the femicide on artist Pippa Bacca in 2008, Bianchi and eight performers of Cara de Cavalo explore what stories an unconscious body without memory can tell, thus connecting to the reality of many abuse survivors. Carolina Bianchi is considered one of the most exciting newcomers in the performing arts, her work is touring to almost all of Europe’s major festivals following its world premiere in July at Festival d’Avignon, where it created an immense buzz.

Please note: Parts of this performance may be disturbing for viewers. It addresses rape and gender-based violence.

A young woman with brown hair and a white T-shirt is lying on a white mattress with fairytale figures printed on it. There are black roses on her lap and pink roses around her. Behind the mattress, "SHE GIT LOVE" is smeared in red.

Eight people with revealing clothes stand in front of a wall on which a purple-pink sky is painted. They look up and down seriously and melancholically and touch each other lightly on the shoulders as they move.
