Jochen Distelmeyer can be described as a seismograph of the present, leaving lasting traces in recent cultural history through the means of pop music. With his band Blumfeld, he combined pop, discourse and poetry to create a wholly unique sound on six albums between 1992 and 2006. After several Blumfeld reunion concerts (including at the 2018 Summer Festival) and solo releases, Distelmeyer now presents his second regular studio album in an intimate club setting at the Summer Festival. »Gefühlte Wahrheiten« (felt truths) tackles themes such as the Babylonian-like babble of voices in social media, longing and desire, social division, losing oneself and coming back with a love that triumphs in the end. In the video for the first single »Ich sing für Dich,« (I sing for you) Distelmeyer roams through society and places himself on the most public of stages - as a street musician, preaching about life and truth by way of his upright harmonic. The resemblance to Bob Dylan is not coincidental; Distelmeyer anticipates with playful ease and great musicality a coming-of-age work of neo-soul and blues, 90's R'n'B and folk, sophisticated pop and alt country, otherwise more familiar from the Anglo-American area.
