Shari Vari

Under the name Shari Vari, HelenaRatka and Sophia Kennedy release experimental pop that combines elements of cool avant garde minimalism and chanson. On the Hamburg duo’s 2019 album »Now«, loosely structured stories unfold over eight chapters. Firmly rooted in the now, they deliver a refreshing change from pop’s rampant obsession with all forms of the past. Sophia Kennedy’s lyrics and voice are a hyper-contemporary variation on the singer-songwriter tradition. Helena Ratka, who is also an active filmmaker and DJ, provides suitable musical accompaniment. They are supported by The Love-Songs, who present songs from their debut album, newly released on Bureau B.
