What does commitment mean today? Between ‘till death do you part’ and ‘Me, Myself and I’, the question arises: how much really belongs to us and how much is left to us? In a world characterised by patriarchy, post-colonial power relations and capitalism, it can get pretty lonely. But especially in difficult times, we need each other. What could alternative forms of commitment look like? After intimate encounters in the Heteraclub and a theatre of touch, Sibylle Peters and her team invite you to a midsummer night's dream. Here, weddings are arranged by lot - beyond bias, gender, age and class. Visitors are invited to navigate the situation: Will there be two or five people saying ‘I do’? With wedding rituals from all over the world and performance art, everyone experiences a chaotic, romantic night that begins with anger at the previous love regimes and develops into a wild celebration. In the garden in front of the Migrantpolitan, fairies and their magic confuse everyone until two donkeys fall in love in the hottub at the end. A wedding party with speeches, cakes, dances and catastrophes - a summer night full of new forms of commitment.
