Berlin-based soloist ensemble Kaleidoskop and musician, singer and poet Anika reinterpret a classic of music history: Nico's mystical solo album »Desertshore« from 1970. Arranged and produced by John Cale, the work combines elements of gothic, folk rock and romanticism, taking the form of a song cycle and inspired by the symbolism of German Romanticism: Somber and unsettling, the vocals convey a deep understanding of the music while maintaining a strange distance from it.

The soloist ensemble Kaleidoskop, founded in Berlin in 2006, develops new forms of experimental music theater and consists of soloists who also act as performers and co-writers in the collaborative productions.

Annika Henderson, on the other hand, has become internationally known as a poet, artist and musician under the name Anika, with three highly acclaimed records, and has performed several times at Kampnagel. Her distinctive, undercooled spoken word vocals have been repeatedly compared to Nico, but at the same time have been received as an outstanding contribution to the recent history of experimental pop music.
