Swutscher is a Low German word, meaning a »dissolutely living person« – and exactly this hedonistic nonchalance applies to the eponymous Hamburg band of Reverend Sascha Utech and his five fellow musicians. On their releases they celebrate a coherent mix of garage sounds, postpunk, opulent fifties schlager and other special stuff – enriched with a tongue-in-cheek Rock 'n' Roll attitude that makes each of their performances a live event. At Kampnagel, Swutscher celebrate a dazzling rock-mass at the beginning of the year, for which they get unholy reinforcement from the Pilsettensister ladies' choir. The concert takes place in a seated position due to Corona – after all, Safety First is the new Rock 'n' Roll (but that will change again).
