As part of this year‘s festival, NORDWIND and Kampnagel are offering two artistic residency scholarships for projects that deal with the topic of national borders and migration history(ies) and focus on the search for home, identity and identity transgressi- ons. The scholarships are aimed at tandem partnerships bet- ween artists from Hamburg and the Nordic countries and aim to strengthen the international networking of the Hamburg scene and create sustainable connections. At the end of the residency, there will be public showings by both tandems.

Zandile Darko & Therese Ramstedt: BE MY GUEST

With jumping-off points in waffles, watering systems and a cappella; Zandile Darko and Therese Ramstedt dive headfirst into the flavours and sensations of ‘home’. Their evolving project BE MY GUEST invites unapologetic exploration of what it means to be at home, and is based around the idea that the perception of home is heightened when we share a personal space and assume the role of host (or guest). Five years since the production of their first stage collaboration Fall Prettier (2019), a reimagining of the Medea myth, Darko and Ramstedt reunite to ask themselves: Where are we in life? As makers, practitioners, women, mothers, as human beings - can we truly separate work and home? Do we even want to? Through their joint practice rooted in movement, voice and vulnerability, the artists wish to informally invite audiences and each other into their respective homes to explore these questions together.

STUDIO NOCLIP & NEKO3: MUNDOMÁGICX

In their joint residency, the collectives STUDIO NOCLIP (Hamburg) and NEKO3 (Copenhagen) are undertaking initial research into their multimedia and multi-part project MUNDOMÁGICX, which, based on an amusement park in Chilé, deals with colonial structures and Eurocentric world views as well as critiques of capitalism. The project is inspired by ‘Mundomágico’, a now defunct television programme and miniature theme park that operated in Lo Prado, Santiago de Chile between 1983 and 2007. Along the way, it deals with personal and global migration histories. The residency will be used by the two collectives as an initial research phase and to test a possible setting for the planned series.
