Tocotronic

German indie rock heroes Tocotronic are back with their 13th album “Nie wieder Krieg” (Never Again War). In 2007, the band last performed a concert at Kampnagel, which later on was also released as a their “Kapitulation Live” album; in the years thereafter, singer Dirk von Lowtzow was a guest at Kampnagel with various theater projects.

With “Nie wieder Krieg”, Tocotronic once again proofs its status as one of the most influential German-language rock bands of the past decades: it gets to the heart of the complicated conditions of the present and finds a musical form and language to capture them. Correspondingly broad is the emotional range of the new songs about general vulnerability, emotional turmoil, existential vulnerability, loneliness and fear, but also about dreams and love.

Originally planned at the larger Georg Elser Halle, which will still be in construction in the fall, the concert was - already sold out - moved to Kampnagel. The next chance to see Tocotronic live in Hamburg is on August 19, 2023, at Stadtpark. Tickets are on sale HERE.
