With LEXIE, Yousef Iskandar and his team of performers, dancers, musicians and visual artists present a multimedia performance that documents the emotional journey of people who have had to go into exile because of their queerness. Using video projections, live music, dance and ritual practices, a fictional narrative setting is created in which the performers not only re-encounter their experienced traumas, but also find joy in connecting with each other and building a new life - without giving up who they are. LEXIE invites the audience to witness a new queer exile world and learn more about the reality behind the clichés.

Implemented within the framework of "Exile Today - Artistic Production Residencies," an initiative of Kampnagel and the Körber Foundation.
