With LOVESONG and VOICES the Hamburg composer and artist Daniel Dominguez Teruel presents two parts of his music theater series “How to Listen to Monuments and What to Listen to when Everything is Melting” – an examination of national anthems and the question of how to listen to monuments. The music theater LOVESONG deconstructs the German national anthem and impressively expresses the ambivalence in relation to state symbols such as the anthem or the flag. The remarkable work has already celebrated an acclaimed premiere at the Hamburg festival Hauptsache Frei in 2021 and was honored with an invitation to the Impulse Festival.
