DIE STERNE

There is not much left to say about Die Sterne – at least for a German speaking audience. The Hamburg based band has defined German pop music with refined lyrics since 1992. Die Sterne have often been associated with a style called »Hamburger Schule«, which refers to the academical Frankfurter Schule with with its neo-Marxist interdisciplinary social theory. August 29, 2014 sees the release of Die Sterne’s tenth studio album, »Flucht in die Flucht« (»escape into the escape«) about which record label boss Maurice Summen (Staatsakt) writes: »Between the Beatkinks, Sly & The Rolling Funkadelic, Stone Mondays and the Black Barleys, Die Sterne move confidently through the space and time axes of music on the hunt for the secret psychedelic magic formula!« Before playing an albumtour- concert at Hamburg’s Uebel & Gefährlich club on October 31, Die Sterne will celebrate an exclusive and intimate album premiere at the International Summer Festival – including some of their friends from the bands Zucker, Der Bürgermeister der Nacht and Schnipo Schranke.
