A young woman with red-black hair sits in a dark, abstract, stony vault. She kneels and stretches out one leg. Her hands rest on her knees, she has very long artificial fingernails.

In pop music, things always get interesting when an unexpected artistic twist changes the pearly surface and worlds open up behind it. This is the case with the synthesizer pop of Hamburg-based musician Jasmina Quach, who as Kuoko has been releasing multi-layered songs since 2018, to which one can both dance and daydream. As a self-taught artist, Kuoko writes and produces her songs herself; in terms of content, she deals with exoticizing stereotypes or role models for girls; and for her videos she collaborates with the queer-feminist collective SEOI, as well as the upcycling fashion label 100 Prozent Geiler or the Kampnagel-associated artist Naomi Kelechi Odhiambo. The latter stars in the video for Kuoko’s new song »Loser«: a French house ode to failure, whose catchy chorus makes it clear why Kuoko's songs have up to eight million clicks on Spotify alone. The track also gives a taste of her second album "Troubleshooter" on Kabul Fire Records, the label of Hamburg producer Farhot. At Kampnagel, Kuoko celebrates the album premiere – as the end of a busy year with performances at the Elbphilharmonie, Dockville or Reeperbahn Festival.
