A city on the river not so long ago: a red carpet is rolled out. On it appear: international entrepreneurs, financial jugglers, project developers, vain mayors. Countless workers whose names are no longer known remain invisible. Plans are forged for new city districts, for landmarks towering into the sky and splendidly sparkling architectural gems. Years later: the red carpet has rips and holes in it. The dreams of architectural wonders and immeasurable growth have burst like a bubble. The property speculators have disappeared. What remains are construction cranes dancing lonely in the wind, empty spaces and inner-city craters. LIGNA invites the audience onto this stage in a moving theatre bus. Equipped with headphones, we explore the ruins that have been left behind. Immerse ourselves in the world of architecture and crime, hear about beautiful appearances and swindles, about fraud and the magic tricks of financial capitalist adventures. And set off into the open future of the city: If you give me stones, I'll give you sand. If you give me water, I'll stir the lime. We are building a new city... For everyone.
